The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEFA) has denied a news published in some online media about the blocking of bank accounts of this ministry.

Through an official communique, the ministry underlines that there is no diplomat serving abroad who has not received the payment, like the one in July.

MEFA emphasizes that every diplomatic representation of the Republic of Albania enjoys diplomatic immunity and thus they are inviolable under any circumstances.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE MINISTRY FOR EUROPE AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs qualifies as untrue and abusive the information published on some portals, on the so-called “blocking” of the bank accounts of the MEFA or the Albanian diplomatic missions, including Italy.

MEFA informs the public opinion and media that, based on the Vienna Convention, the bank accounts of MEFA and any diplomatic mission of the Republic of Albania enjoy diplomatic immunity and thus are inviolable under any circumstances.

Every employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the service abroad, both in Italy and in any other country, has received payment regularly, as well as in July, in accordance with the laws and the labor code.
