Direct investments until August in Kosovo reach 514 million euros

Direct investments in Kosovo until the end of August 2023 reached a value of 514 million euros, as stated in the report from the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo on the balance of payments for August 2023, with external investments totaling over 145 million euros.

According to the report, investments in securities outside Kosovo increased by 322 million euros.

While investments in deposits, loans, and trade credits within the country were 152 million euros, those outside Kosovo amounted to 24 million euros.

“Regarding financial account assets, they reached 652.3 million euros by August 2023. Remittances for this month increased by 93.6 million euros, or 11.7 percent compared to the same period in 2022”.

Primary income until August 2023 recorded a positive balance of 71.5 million euros.

In conclusion, the balance of payments was characterized by a current account deficit of 220.2 million euros, indicating a 41 percent improvement compared to the same period last year.
