The Director of the Office for Kosovo at the Serbian government, Petar Petkovic, is expected to go on a two-day visit to Kosovo.
The Ministry of Justice noted that Petkovic filed for a permission to pass in the territory of Kosovo as per a 2014 agreement signed in Brussels.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora has approved a visiting request from the Serbian official Petar Petkovic, dated 12-13 July”, the ministry told local media KosovaPress.
The Ministry of Justice stipulated that Petkovic will have to respect protocol and the agenda, as well as be careful with political declarations, refrain from rhetoric that might spark violence, or that it is against the state of Kosovo altogether.
The Ministry also noted that Petkovic will be denied entry, in case he does not stick to the agenda and protocol.
Petar Petkovic is set to attend an academy organized at the “House of Culture” in commemoration of the 30-year ceremony of the foundation of the Commune of Zveçan.
In 2018, Kosovo police detained the former Director of the Office for Kosovo at the Serbian government, Marko Djuric, as he entered the country illegally disregarding state institutions.
