The current president of Montenegro and the presidential candidate of the DPS, Milo Djukanovic, stated that he has communication with the Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic, but that the communication is not as intense as before, due to, as he claims, the change in the political course of Serbia.

Djukanovic believes that “anti-Serbism cannot be found” in him.

“Part of my extended family lives in Belgrade and my friends. We will be against the politics of Greater Serbia, but friends of Serbia”, Djukanovic said in an interview for the Parliamentary Channel, as reported by RTCG. Speaking about the Open Balkans, he said that it is effective, concrete and in line with EU standards. “I am absolutely convinced that some regional leaders have lost faith in EU enlargement, so why not organize cooperation between them”, said the DPS presidential candidate, asserting that the Berlin process represents a model that is in compliance with European standards.
