RAI journalist Sigfrido Ranucci spoke this Wednesday on the show Now with host Erla Mëhilli on Euronews Albania about the recent attack against him.

He addressed whether he suspects the Albanian mafia of being behind the incident.

“I don’t believe the Albanian mafia is involved in the attack. The Anti-Mafia Directorate in Italy conducted an investigation into the Albanian mafia, but I don’t know the details. At this moment, I have no elements to make such a claim after so much time, because that would reopen that topic.

I don’t think the Albanian mafia is that foolish or lacking in clarity. It might have to do with investigations in other countries.

Right now, I have no indication. I have no reason to link it to that Albanian person,” — said Ranucci.
