The Democratic Party filed a lawsuit against the minister of Environment Blendi Klosi at the Special Prosecution Against Corruption, so-called SPAK, for abuse of power and environment crimes.
Other top officials included in the lawsuit are the mayor of Tepelena, Tërmet Peçi, the director of the National Environment Agency and the director of the National Agency of Protected Areas.
In a press conference, DP’s head of the environment department Jamarbër Malltezi said that the three high officials are accused for damages at the National Park of Dajti and for theft of environment funds.
Malltezi said that the first lawsuit against minister Klosi and the other two officials came after their alleged toleration of the activity at a quarry at the National Park of Dajti, resulting in environmental damages.
“These lawsuits will be filed today at SPAK. We only need some good will to launch an investigation without further delay on these crimes, after to the vast damage caused in the environment”.
