The Special Prosecution against Corruption and Organized Crime, (SPAK) has started verifications regarding e-Albania’s alleged misuse of personal data, following the accusations of the Democratic Party the previous day.
Official sources from SPAK say that they are verifying whether this database is put to use for the benefits of the electoral campaign of the April 25th parliamentary elections. Euronews Albania has found out that SPAK will be acquiring a copy of e-Albania’s data, in order to verify if they are the same as the ones published.
Yesterday, the Democratic Party made allegations against the Socialist Party, with the pretence that they are using the citizens’ data that are deposited on the government portal e-Albania, for their electoral benefits.
During a statement for the media, the former MP of the Democratic Party, Enkel Alibeaj dubbed this event a serious offense and violation of citizens’ personal privacy. This is why he emphasized that DP is pursuing legal action against e-Albania and filing a lawsuit at SPAK.
On the other hand, an official reaction for Euronews Albania has also come from the National Agency of the Organization of Information, denying all accusations.
“The National Agency of the Organization of Information ensures Albanian citizens that never, under any given circumstance, has it used their data that is at the disposal of the AKSH, and that they can not be used by political parties or the government for political or electoral purposes,” emphasized AKSHI.
