Draw Held for U-17 European Championship to Be Hosted in Albania

The draw for the UEFA U-17 European Championship, set to take place in Albania from May 19 to June 1, 2025, was held this Monday at the “House of Football” in Tirana.

Eight national teams will participate in this tournament, with Albania taking part as the host nation.

In Group A, Albania is set to face some of Europe’s football powerhouses: France, Germany, and Portugal.

The opening match for the Albanian team will be played on May 19 at 18:00, at the “National Arena” stadium in Tirana, where they will take on Portugal.

Group B consists of Italy, Belgium, England, and the Czech Republic, who will compete for a place in the final stages of the tournament.

The draw ceremony was led by UEFA’s Head of Boys’ Football, Lance Kelly, while the ambassador of the tournament, Klaus Gjasula, conducted the draw.

The event was attended by representatives of the finalist teams, UEFA officials, members of the Albanian Football Association (FSHF), as well as media and FSHF partners.

Participants in this championship will play the group stage matches before advancing to the quarter-finals and semi-finals, which will be hosted in four stadiums across Albania:

  • “National Arena” in Tirana

  • “Elbasan Arena” in Elbasan

  • “Arena Egnatia” in Rrogozhinë

  • “Niko Dovana” in Durrës

The 2025 UEFA U-17 European Champion will be crowned on June 1, in the final match to be played at the “National Arena” in Tirana.
