The 96-year-old Albanian cardinal, His Eminence Ernest Troshan Simoni, congratulated Catholic believers on Easter.

In his speech, he wished all people to have peace and prosperity and to be united in the face of evil, remembering the sacrifice of Christ, who was crucified and took with him the sins of humanity, to be resurrected and to restore hope to humanity.

“Albanian brothers and sisters wherever you are, today we live in a time when humanity is filled with surprises. Today is the feast of Christ’s resurrection, who triumphed over destruction, death. Spread Christ’s love, to have prosperity,” he said.

“Open the doors of your minds and hearts to Christ. This is a great feast that we should all celebrate for all the people of the world. We wish everyone to have the light of Christ’s resurrection and to have Christ in mind and heart at every feast. Be united! Peace and prosperity,” said the cardinal.

Catholic believers celebrate the resurrection of Christ, while last night they celebrated the Way of the Cross.
