The Council of Europe has made a reflection of the results achieved by Albania, in the process of expansion.
Assessing the objectives for integration in the European Union, the Council encourages the political forces to follow the membership plan.
In the adopted conclusions, the EC notes that political polarization continues to influence the activities of the parliament and advises comprehensive political dialogue, for progress in EU-related reforms.
Likewise, the decisions of the Constitutional Court must be fully respected and implemented, while for electoral reforms, the unresolved recommendations from the OSCE/ODIHR and the Venice Commission must be addressed in a comprehensive and timely manner.
The EC sees with concern the media and the minorities in the country, which they call a violation of freedom of expression and rights.
As for migration and borders, it is required to adapt the asylum procedures to the policy followed by the EU.
Meanwhile, regarding the economic criteria, the Council encourages Albania to continue its efforts to advance in a competitive market.
