Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to today’s chaos in the Parliament of Albania.
While at the open meeting held for the “Deputy we want” initiative, Rama showed the photo where the deputies’ chairs were on fire after they were burned by the opposition.
He said that the opposition MPs set fire to the chairs where they were elected by the people to sit, as they oppose a court decision.
“This is a fire lit with the chairs of the deputies elected in the Parliament of Albania to sit in those chairs and to represent those who take them there, as a sign of revolt against a court decision. I brought this image here, because I want to say a few words about politics, which for a long time, not only in Albania but also in developed countries, has been going through bad days in public perception, indeed, it is a tool that has done extremely great things in the history of mankind, but it has also done very great catastrophes.
Rejecting politics as something bad, as something dirty you’d better not mess with is childish because it’s impossible for you to decide what politics does or doesn’t do with you. You can only decide how much you can improve politics, but in case you refuse to deal with her, she has all the power to deal with you. Everything outside the doors of the house is related to politics and its decisions. But even inside the house, a lot is related to politics and its decisions.
Between these two views, lies the division here in us, between us, who try to build, heal, plant and those who, on the other hand, destroy, injure, uproot, burn”, said Rama.
We remind that the chaos of this Monday in the Parliament of Albania comes after the Court of Appeal gave the verdict of 1 year in prison for the deputy Ervin Salianji, who is convicted of the charge of “giving false testimony” for the “Babale” case.
