The number of elderly living alone is increasing every day. The latest census data show that 10.8% of senior citizens live alone.

Geriatrics experts have analyzed the situation of the elderly and have highlighted that 19% of them have various disabilities.

With increasing age, the rate of disability also increases, if for the age group 65-69 the rate of disability for men is 9% and 12% for women after the age of 85, we see that the rate of disability affects 40% of men and 47% of women.

The 6 most expressed problems in the third age are vision, hearing, mobility, self-care and communication.

Hypertension is the disease from which almost all the elderly suffer.

A study using questions addressed to the elderly has highlighted that 11% have no one to take care of them, while 16% have no one they can trust and talk to.

With the increase in life expectancy, the number of elderly people will continue to grow, parallel to their needs for socio-health care.

Projections drawn up by experts show us that the number of elderly people from 90,900 in 2020, is expected to go to 130,400 in 2030 and 161,100 in 2050.
