The leader of the Democratic Union of Kosovo (LDK) Lumir Abdixhiku demanded once again from Prime Minister Albin Kurti to revoke the law on general elections in Kosovo.

During Friday’s plenary session he said that the opposition will not be kneeling to Kurti and that LDK has been a constructive piece in the process of choosing the new president.

According to him, the prime minister is blackmailing the party and aiming to destabilize the political situation in the country.

“You are wrong if you think about subduing the opposition, you’d be lying to yourself, to the people that voted, and even to Vjosa to whom you promised that you will make president. LDK has done its part showing great responsibility, and you’re doing the only thing you know how to do, to create continuous crises. Revoke the law, don’t send us to elections”, he said.

The head of LDK added that Kosovo is in dire need of having an electoral reform, but according to him “reforms are not done in the dark,” and without the consultation of the opposition and civil society.
