The Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (PZAP) has fined Kosovo’s ruling party, Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV), €3,000 for violating the “Code of Conduct” during the election campaign.

The fine was imposed due to offensive language used by Prime Minister Albin Kurti during an electoral rally on January 13 in Peja. PZAP determined that Kurti’s remarks were insulting and incited hatred towards the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). The decision followed a complaint filed by the LDK, which PZAP partially upheld.

During the rally, Kurti stated: “Therefore, when we happen to hear a leader of the ‘Ldkyhit’ saying that the people like them, that the people have sympathy for them, it reminds me of that fly that said wherever I go, they welcome me with applause.”

This sanction is part of a series of fines imposed by PZAP for breaches of the Code of Conduct during the election campaign. Previously, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) was fined €20,000, and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) was fined €12,000 for similar violations.
