The election campaign for the Mayor of Himara is scheduled to begin on July 26. Based on the decision of the Central Election Commission, this campaign will last for a period of 7 days, until August 2. This reduced term for the campaign has been established to guarantee an organized election process within a short period of time and to allow electoral subjects sufficient time to unfold their programs.
The Central Election Commission has determined that the election process in Himara has shortened deadlines for all necessary procedures, including the registration of electoral subjects and the accreditation of observers. Electoral subjects have until July 15, 2024 to submit their requests for registration and proposals for members of election commissions, thus ensuring a quick and effective organization of elections.
In the framework of this decision, it is foreseen that the Office of Civil Status will draw up the list of voters no later than July 10. Also, the Himara Municipality and other public institutions have the obligation to report to the Central Election Commission all activities of a public nature that they plan to develop from the period of July 15 to the day of the elections.
Audiovisual media monitoring will also begin on July 15, 2024, to ensure that public activities of institutions are monitored in a regular and transparent manner. This monitoring is an additional measure to guarantee a fair and impartial electoral process.
