Elbasan is the first large municipality in the country that will apply electronic voting and counting for the May 14 local elections.
224 are the voting centers where this innovation will be applied throughout the county.
A large part of the elderly are not informed on how to vote electronically.
The CEC representative in Elbasan, Luan Dervishi, explains how electronic voting will work and the measures that have been taken for any case.
“This type of voting was applied two years ago and it was successful, and I believe it will be a success for Elbasan to. We have taken measures for any type of case, even for extreme cases that can be blocked. In such cases, the CEC will be notified, while we have taken measures to switch to manual voting,” he said.
The representative of CEC number 49, indicates that electronic voting will be many times easier than voting by paper.
“Electronic voting is easier than manual voting is much simpler and those who had difficulty in manual voting in old age will find it very easy here,” explained Dervishi.
In the entire Municipality of Elbasan, there are 171,000 people over age of 18 who have now the right to vote. The material base will be distributed on Saturday, including electronic equipment.
