The United States Embassy in Tirana reacted on Monday following the end of the temporary U.S. government shutdown due to budgetary funding issues.
“Following the end of the government shutdown, we are ready to resume our work as normal,” the embassy’s announcement states.
In the same statement, the embassy also recalled last month’s visit of the Director for Central Western European Affairs, Mark Fleming.
“We were pleased to welcome Director Mark Fleming to Albania,” the announcement continues. According to the embassy, during his stay in Tirana, Fleming met with leaders from across the political spectrum, as well as with justice and law enforcement institutions.
The statement highlights that his visit aimed “to underscore the strong U.S.–Albania partnership, strengthen NATO readiness, and enhance cooperation in combating international criminal organizations.”
The post also includes images from Fleming’s meetings with Speaker of Parliament Niko Peleshi, SPAK Chief Altin Dumani, Interior Minister Albana Koçiu, and members of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group.
