Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku held a meeting with administrators and employees of OSHEE (Electricity Distribution Operator) regarding energy meter readers. This meeting is part of an initiative taken by the entire energy sector and led by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy to reduce the price by 10.5%.

Balluku explained the technical measures that have been taken to manage the entire new process starting from February 1, when the price reduction will be implemented.

“We have reduced by 30% the number of complaints compared to 2023. All measures have been taken. The team of 870 readers in Albania will increase to around 1,000 with the new numbers we will have,” said Balluku.

She also discussed the tripartite agreement between Albania, the United Arab Emirates, and Italy regarding the interconnection line.

The interconnection line will link our country with the Italian coast. The line, which will connect Albania to Italy underwater, will take our country to another level in electricity transmission. Our country is supported by a favorable geographic position but also by a geopolitical one due to the role we play in Italy,” said Belinda Balluku.
