“We need to regionalize our markets and go beyond our borders”, said Prime Minister Rama in Belgrade, where he is participating in a conference on renewable energy options.
Energy is what brought together in Belgrade 5 of the 6 leaders of the Western Balkans in the conference on opportunities in the development of renewable energy with the initiative of the Serbian and Norwegian governments.
For Prime Minister Rama, when acting regionally, even access to financing to support the Western Balkans is easier. For Rama, the meeting served to conceptualize a regional master plan and an investment guide.
“We need to regionalize our markets and as far as energy is concerned, we need to go beyond our borders because otherwise, we will continue to remain small markets. What we need, if treated in isolation, can be much more costly and difficult to obtain,” said Rama.
As for the Serbian president, Aleksandër Vucic, we will have to change the structure of the energy sector to have more renewable sources.
“We need an even more difficult reform in the energy sector as far as the financial and fiscal sector is concerned because we have to change ourselves to ensure a better future” – said Vucic.
Prime Minister Rama said that in Albania there are 2 new projects that are being worked on, one is a floating solar energy plant in Devoll and the other is a system to produce energy through water.
