The sounds, traditions, and colors of Tirana’s folklore filled the stage of the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet with the concert conceived as an artistic mosaic titled “Ku ka si Tirona.”
Through a diverse program, audiences enjoyed urban folk songs, traditional dances, and moments reflecting Tirana’s cultural identity over the years, performed by some of the most renowned names in urban folk music.
“At the opening of the calendar season, we begin with our first performance, Ku ka si Tirona. It is a show dedicated to the traditions of the capital, something that obliges us to pay special attention. This heightened focus obliges us to present high-quality performances so that the audience feels at home,” said Sokol Marsi, Director of the National Folk Song and Dance Ensemble.
Artists from the ensemble performed a carefully selected repertoire that included works by Muharrem Gura, as well as other figures who have made history. The performance also featured guest artists Irma Libohova, Armaldo Kllogjeri, and Greta Zani.
“Ku ka si Tirona,” which will also be staged on Tuesday evening, marks not only a concert premiere but also the launch of a new artistic cycle titled “Treasures of the Soul.” This cycle aims to promote cultural heritage through various works and projects that will continue throughout the 2026 artistic season.
