Turkish citizens head to polls this Sunday, to vote for the new president of the country.
Speaking to Euronews Albania, the editor for TRT World Abdulvehap Ejupi compared the two candidates rivaling for the post. Ejupi says that the opposition candidate, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has an advantage towards the actual president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
“Rallies started immediately after the Eid al-Fitr holiday. This is one of the most important and quietest campaigns in the history of Turkey. Both parties are well organized on the field, but there is a big advantage of the opposition. If you take a look at social media, the opposition is in the lead, polls are head-to-head, but the party of President Erdoğan dominates in rallies. The result is yet unpredictable. So far, this is the biggest challenge Erdoğan has ever had,” said Ejupi.
