The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has said that progress in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is the only way for long-term peace and stability in the region.
In a post on Twitter, the Turkish Presidency has said that it has spoken with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, regarding the developments in the north of Kosovo.
According to the announcement, Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is ready to contribute to the dialogue process.
Turkey joins the reactions from Western countries that called for a return to the Brussels dialogue and calming the situation in three municipalities in the north of Kosovo, in Leposaviq, Zubin Potok and Zveçan.
Kurti blamed what he called “fascist gangs” led by the Government of Serbia for the violence in the north.
The violence has been condemned by NATO and the international factor, while the United States has asked the Government of Kosovo to take steps to reduce tensions in the north.
