The electoral process for the leadership of the Democratic Party has gained the attention of many, purely because of the fact that the current leader, Lulzim Basha is being challenged by three other names, who used to be very close to him.
According to renowned political science expert, Ermal Hasimja, present on the panel of ‘Ilva Now’ the current premises show that the race within the Democratic Party will be a real and tough one.
“There is something positive in this race, because we have seen very little real racing from our main two parties. We have asked for internal rivalry and one of the good things this time around, is that a real race seems to be brewing within the Democratic Party,” he said.
He admitted that Lulzim Basha will need to “try his absolute best” in this race, because the names running against him, are taking the battle for the leadership of DP, very seriously.
“It seems to me that this is a real race, not only because the candidates have taken it seriously, but because I believe that if Basha wins, he will have had to run seriously and maximally and this is a good thing for the Democratic Party. This encourages within the DP, an internal energy and yearning for renovation,” argued Hasmija.
