The artist Ermira Murati has shared a politically-motivated message through her latest paintings.
She has presented the public with an openly provocative painting, in which the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, are seen exchanging a kiss on the lips.
The artist, who is known on social networks as “Orange girl”, raises questions with her work saying: “will this be a kiss of friendship or betrayal?”
“From the kiss solemnity and humiliation are expected. Kissing is an expression, but it’s never neutral. It takes on meaning depending on the context, where, and why it is given. History records in its archive of kisses from moments of pain and farewell. But history also knows the kisses of brotherhood or even betrayal. Will this be one of them?”, writes Murati.
