Ervin Salianji, who is in prison, addressed the citizens with a message shortly before the start of the protest called by the opposition.

In a letter sent from prison, he says that it is time for the government to reap the fig tree it planted. He has invited all citizens to join the protest while saying that they should become “a wall to stop evil”.

In his message, he states that citizens must react to preserve the dignity and rights of everyone.

“In these hours, they are reaping the fear they sowed themselves!

We know that they thought they would scare us, and today they strengthened us even more. Our attitude is their dissolution! We know that many of us sacrifice and resist because it is up to us first to be the wall that stops evil. It is up to us and only us to be the strength of the example.

To lose freedom in order to gain the strength to strike against injustice is a choice of conscience. Losing freedom in the battle to win democracy and good governance for the people is the highest value.

To lose freedom by gaining faith in sacrifice is the highest form of civil nobility. Gaining freedom by protesting with the belief that Albanians deserve another solution is the way!

React, don’t lose yourself, nor your dignity, nor your rights!
