The building of the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) has recently been renovated to meet the highest European Union standards, while the project’s funding was supported by the EU.

During a visit to the renovated premises of the Special Court, it was announced that 80% of the investment cost had been covered through the reuse of confiscated assets, as part of the fight against corruption and organized crime.

At the meeting held on this occasion, the Acting Chief Judge of the Special Court of First Instance, Judge Erion Bani, and the European Union Ambassador to Albania, Silvio Gonzato, discussed the Court’s role in strengthening public trust in the justice system and the importance of maintaining high standards in judicial decision-making.

Ambassador Gonzato emphasized that improving judicial infrastructure should remain a priority throughout Albania in order to guarantee security, transparency, and citizens’ access to justice.

According to EU representatives, such investments are intended to further support the consolidation of justice reform and the strengthening of independent institutions in the country.
