EU integration, Kurti: Requests coming from the bloc to be treated with all seriousness

The first meeting of the Ministerial Council for European Integration convened this Friday led by Prime Minister Albin Kurti.

Kurti said the establishment of this institution testifies that Kosovo’s commitment to fulfilling the criteria outlined by the European Union.

The head of the executive reiterated that all requests coming from the bloc will be treated with the utmost seriousness.

“Today we will review the processes under the European integration network. I expect all requests coming from the EU to be treated with all seriousness. We aspire to be a developed country and EU standards should be our guide. We should not see European integration from a distance, but instead as an opportunity to grow”, Kurti said.

Kurti added that it is up to Kosovo to deliver and hold his cabinet responsible for the concrete reforms that need to be implemented.

Deputy premier Besnik Bislimi listed 15 priorities on the European agenda as well as a specific deadline for their implementation.
