Albania marks another very important step in the process of integration into the European Union.

Foreign Minister Igli Hasani announced that the compatibility review process, known as “screening”, was successfully completed this week in Brussels.

“This process lasted for 14 months with 777 presentations, with the involvement of over 1500 Albanian experts and 1000 experts from the European Commission. Since 2022, 300 explanatory and bilateral meetings were held to review the acquis. This process brings Albania closer to the European Union and makes it more prepared for the further stages of integration. The next step is to open the first group of chapters on basic issues. An incentive for intensive engagement, with the aim of accelerating the process of Albania’s membership in the EU”, says Hasani.
