President Vjosa Osmani has called today a historic day for Kosovo, which has just submitted its application for membership in the European Union.

After the signing ceremony together with Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca and Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Osmani said in a statement to the press that this is a step to bring Kosovo closer to the EU.

“From now on, December 14, will have a two-fold significance in Kosovo’s modern history – and the history of our Republic. On the one hand, we are applying for membership in the European Union, and on the other hand, we are celebrating the anniversary of the founding of our army. Both of these acts are in line with our goals towards the realization of our Euro-Atlantic vision”, – said Osmani.
