The delegation of the European Union in Albania has reacted to the news that two female prosecutors have been threatened with their lives.

As stated in the announcement, the EU expects the commitment of the authorities to bring to justice those who threatened justice officials.

Full Announcement:

EU delegation in Albania is deeply concerned about the threats made to the justice authorities who work every day in the fight against organized crime in Albania. We welcome the commitment of the Albanian authorities to quickly investigate these threats and hold the perpetrators accountable. The EU fully supports all officials working in the fight against corruption and organized crime in Albania, condemns any form of threatening behavior towards them and continues to support the country in its efforts to strengthen the rule of law.

It was the repentant justice, Artan Tafani, part of Laert Haxhiu’s gang of hitman, who confessed the group’s plans to eliminate the prosecutor of Special Anti-Corruption Structure, Doloreza Musabelliu, and former Lushnja’s prosecutor Merita Selimi, as well as a lawyer.
