The next meeting between Kosovo’s prime minister, Albin Kurti and the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic will be taking place on July 19th in Brussels. The news was announced during a press conference conducted by EU spokesperson, Peter Stano.
“This meeting representing a high level of the dialogue, will be focusing on the discussion of the progress achieved to date – regarding the next steps of the dialogue, which is very important for the European perspective of both Kosovo and Serbia,” – said Stano.
This will be the second meeting between Kurti and Vucic in Brussels, after the one on June 15th, where each side expressed their discontents head to head.
Last week, the deputy PM of Kosovo for the dialogue, Besnik Bislimi went to Brussels to meet with the director of the Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo, Petar Petkovic, yet no progress was made.
The Serbian side insists that Kosovo should comply to the Brussels agreement regarding the formation of an Association of Communes that have a Serbian majority, whereas the Kosovo delegation has pointed out that many of the agreements that have been reached to date between both countries aren’t being fully respected by Serbia.
