The ambassadors of Germany and France in Albania have commented on the process of Albania’s integration into the European Union and the re-entry of the opposition into parliament, as well as the recent arrests by Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK).
“We are happy about Albania’s new steps in the EU. It is a moment of confidence that the EU gives to Albania with the opening of the chapters, the real process has started. The values of the European Union are merging with the Albanian society. Justice institutions like SPAK and others are part of the integration process, we support them, their work. We appreciate the work of SPAK”, said Karl Bergner, Ambassador of Germany to Albania.
“As President Macron emphasized during his visit to Albania, we are happy about Albania’s steps in the EU and we are convinced that they will continue. The process of integration is important for the transformation of Albanian society. We help France and Germany in this transformation process. We support the work of SPAK, the EU supports it in the important work it is doing”, said Catherine Suard, ambassador of France in Albania.
The statements of foreign diplomats were given during the tributes performed in Korça in memory of the French soldiers who fell in our country in the first world war.
