The Albanian economy is expected to grow by 3.6% in 2025.
The forecast was made in the autumn report of the European Commission, while the figure is revised downwards, since the expectations at the beginning of the year were for a 3.8% increase.
In the analysis, the EC expects employment to increase, but not at the pace of recent years, and this slowdown will be affected by immigration and population decline. Likewise, the growth rate of tourists is expected to slow down in 2025.
The slow improvement in employment will have a negative impact on consumption.
From external factors, exports are expected to expand.
Focusing on the risks that threaten the economy, the EC singles out the volatility of the exchange rate and the need for qualified employees.
The immigration of the latter is seen as a major problem. Results of the Census, which showed a massive decline in the working-age population.
According to the EC, for 2025-2026 the growth of the Gross Domestic Product is expected to reach 3.6% and 3.5%, a moderate and sustainable growth.
