The teams of Albanian archaeologists in cooperation with the French ones are carrying out excavations in Apollonia.
Archaeological excavations are being carried out in the thermal baths of Apollonia, as the studies focus on the accurate reflection of this important European settlement.
The news was announced by the French embassy, through a post on social networks, in the context of the 100th anniversary of scientific cooperation between France and Albania.
The diplomatic body writes that in this anniversary it is important to highlight this partnership, which is the basis of scientific francophone between our two countries.
They have also commemorated the main founders of this partnership throughout these years, prominent French and Albanian historians, such as Léon Rey (1887-1954), Pierre Cabanes (1930-2023) and Hasan Ceka (1900-1998).
“Fruitful meetings with the Albanian and French archaeological teams that are carrying out excavations around the thermal baths of Apollonia.
In this 100th anniversary (1924-2024) of scientific cooperation between France and Albania, the basis of the scientific francophone between our two countries, it is important to emphasize this partnership” – wrote the French Embassy.
