Anastas Kostandini, the well-known painter from Pogradec, has brought Paris to the city of Korça in Albania. He has created his exhibition with 45 of his works made in the French capital. Taso confesses that Paris is the city of his dreams since he started drawing, also because of the big names of painting there.

“Paris has been my dream since I was young. We have lived with the great art of Paris, with the civilization that came from that place and that was the feeling of freedom, but we never had the opportunity to go there and see painting with our eyes.

After democracy I was given the chance, and through my girl I learn the mysteries of Paris. Besides the capital of our country, I call Paris the capital of artists. It is a destination not only spiritual but also humane and intellectual” – Anastas Kostandini, painter.

“To show that the first world war and the presence of France here with the army, of course the center was in Korça, but the entire southeast region, including here Pogradec, were territories under the temporary administration of the French army. I painted two scenes, one of which is the French army with the band in the Old Market of Pogradec playing the Marseillaise. It is a peaceful situation, there is no talk of war” Kostandini emphasized.

Anastas Kostandini is one of the most popular painters in the country and during his artistic life he has opened many exhibitions, where a French spirit is always noticeable. “Paris Je T’aime” is the exhibition that has attracted the attention of not only Korça and Pogradec art lovers, but more than that.
