The Assembly of Kosovo has announced that on Wednesday, at 14:00, an extraordinary session will be held for the election of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.

Meanwhile, at 11:00 another session will take place regarding the formation of parliamentary committees, where discussions will focus on the budget, international agreements, and the financing of RTK.

The nominee for forming the government is Glauk Konjufca from Vetëvendosje Movement, who has stated that he aims to secure the support of MPs for his Government, in order to avoid parliamentary elections in December and ensure that the country has an executive “at least” until April, when the new president must be elected.

However, the chances appear minimal for Vetëvendosje to succeed in forming the executive on their second attempt.

On October 26, Albin Kurti failed to secure the necessary votes to form the government.

Vetëvendosje won the February 9 elections, but has not secured enough seats in the Assembly to form a government without cooperation from other parties.

If the required majority to form the Government is not reached tomorrow, the country will automatically head to extraordinary elections.
