A 39-year-old man lost his life on Thursday in Skenderaj due to gunshot wounds, according to a report from the Kosovo Police.
In an official media release, the Police revealed that the fatal incident took place in the village of Runik in Skenderaj. Apart from the victim, three other individuals were also wounded during the incident.
The injured parties are currently undergoing treatment at the University Clinical Center of Kosovo.
Initial findings and an examination of the crime scene have led authorities to suspect that two masked individuals entered a café, opened fire, and then quickly fled in an unknown direction. Various bullet casings were discovered and seized at the location.
The authorities are actively engaged in efforts to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for this tragic killing.
This incident marks the third reported murder in Kosovo over the past week.
Following a fatal shooting incident in the heart of Pristina in the late hours of August 4, with one victim and several injured, Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla announced the establishment of a new task force to investigate serious crimes.
According to Sveçla, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will initiate the creation of a dedicated task force as part of their strategy against organized crime. The task force’s primary goal will be to conduct a thorough investigation on similar incidents in Kosovo.
