Nebi Mucaj, the executive director of the Voluntary Center for Civil Emergencies, along with several other people, helped Turkey to get bodies out of the ruins of the tragic earthquake on the morning of February 6.
Invited to speak on Euronews Albania, he recounted one of the most difficult moments, where they found father and son hugging under the ruins.
He said the father had hugged the 5-year-old to protect him.
“The most difficult moment was the embrace of father and son under the ruins. The father had protected the child with his body. This was the moment that touched us most spiritually. Every tragedy has its own pain,” he said.
