Through fragments from his work, the figure of Father Zef Pllumi was commemorated on Monday evening at the Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD) near the Prime Minister’s Office.

“Then where was the truth?” was titled the activity that was held within the 100th anniversary of the birth of Father Zef Pllumi.

Father Pllumi was lucky enough to survive torture and imprisonment and left behind monumental works, published by the Franciscan Province of Albania house and which were commented on by those present.

“In addition to being a pillar of the revival of the Catholic Church and the Franciscan Order after the Enverist oppression, this brother of ours has been an outstanding figure in the civil and cultural framework of the Albanian nation,” said Father Flavio Cavallini, Representative of the Franciscan Province of Albania.

Monsignor Gjergj Meta, president of the Episcopal Conference of Albania, dwelled on some personal memories with Father Zefi, while sharing with the young people fragments from the work of Father Pllumi.

“We arrived on December 24, 1988. For us who believe in Christ, it was a great celebration. The night of his birthday, or the festival of Kshnella, which the people call in their own sense, the little Easter. In fact, they are the most family holidays in the world”, said Monsignor Gjergj Meta.

“When it was time to go to bed, I was so excited,” he reads a quote.

Among other things, he added that Father Zefi had a way of saying things, so soft and so clear, that you couldn’t take him for granted.

According to the work of Father Pllumi, it is not only the good materials that lead a person, but mainly the high virtues of religion and love, and before all types of corruption, the most dangerous is moral corruption.
