The wildfire that ignited at the National Park of Prespa continues to pose a challenge, even 3 days after it broke out.

The fire initially started at the border with Greece and rescue teams including firefighters from Pustec and various volunteer groups are currently working to keep the flames at bay.

The mayor of Pustec, Pali Kalofski confirmed for Euronews Albania that municipal firefighting crews have also been mobilized, seeing that the fire is found close to the Greek border.

Meanwhile, the mission has presented difficulties because the location of the fire is on top of the Ostoja mountain, at the place known as Pyramid 10, bordering Greece.

Intervention from the air is still impossible at the moment, as the fire is precipitating and mainly burning over bushland.

The surface area covered in flames is still unknown.
