This Monday afternoon, the village of Bistrovicë in Dimal was engulfed in flames, where about 400 olive roots were burned. Firefighters worked only with circumstantial means since there is no road, several fires are still burning. Residents:
“The fire brigade could not enter because there is no road”.
A fire broke out this afternoon in the village of Bistrovicë in Dimal. The fire has fallen in the part of the hilly area, all planted with olive trees.
As a result of high temperatures and light wind, the fire spread rapidly towards the trees, burning about 400 olive roots. Although the fire services arrived on time, the lack of a road made it impossible for them to enter the vicinity of the fire territory.
This has caused the firefighters to approach the fire on foot and extinguish it with circumstantial means. Due to the difficult terrain and lack of sufficient water, some fires are still active.
Residents say that there is no road to the hilly area with orchards and this has caused the large fire engines to remain several kilometers away from the fire.
