Interior Minister Taulant Balla has arrived in Lushnjë to take a close look at the situation created by a large fire that engulfed the hills with olive trees in the village of Zhamë Sektor, Dushk Unit this afternoon.

As a result of the spread of the flames, considerable areas of olive trees, vegetation and bushes were burned, endangering the houses as well.

Dozens of fire brigades, Police and municipal administration employees have been engaged for more than 4 hours to put the fire under control. Currently, the flames do not endanger the surrounding residences.

The structures of the Lushnjë Police Station, immediately after receiving the notification that there was a fire in the village of Zham, made it possible to identify and accompany the suspected arsonist to the Police Station.

It was accompanied and further procedural investigative actions are being carried out for the citizen R. Z., 58 years old, who lit a fire to burn the garbage and the fire got out of control.
