Seven pilots from Kosovo, namely 5 boys and 2 girls, are competing in the European Air Sports Championship that is taking place in Gjirokastra.

Thanks to the sports preparation, talent and quality of the flights, the Kosovar team is among the strong competitors, claiming the victory as the champion of the European air sports competition.

Among other things, the pilots confess their emotions while flying in the blue sky over the stone city of Gjirokastra.

“It’s not the first time I come to Gjirokastra, for me it’s always different and I always feel very good here, every time I come it’s an extraordinary experience especially now in this European championship, which is something very special for me, I mean, with results but also with the feelings I have in this country”, said Gëzim Statovci, pilot.

“It’s exciting when I know that I’m Kosovar and fly over the sky of Albania among many good world and European pilots, even knowing that Kosovo is currently in the first rank as a team”, said Kosovare Leskovci, pilot.

Participants in the 8th European Air Sports Championship are 22 countries and 100 pilots from different countries of the world. In addition to sporting values, this event also promotes the tourist resources of the stone city.
