Prime Minister Edi Rama is conducting a visit to the Municipality of Durres to closely follow the situation that has been created due to the rains.
In a post he made on social media, Rama wrote that the rainfall flows have been restrained by the embankment built after the previous floods.
The head of the government says that a problem remains in some isolated points in the area of the former swamp, where constructions without permission were made under the quota and according to him it is difficult to avoid the presence of water in some houses.
“In Durres (what they would never tell you otherwise on channels and portals) thanks to the hard work of the mayor, the vast majority of the remaining problematic points from the past have been healed, such as the area of New Sukthi, where the flows were held back by the embankment built after previous floods. A few isolated points in the area of the former swamp remain an issue, where constructions without permission have been raised under the quota and where it is very difficult to avoid the presence of water in a few dozen houses, especially in case of heavy rains” – wrote Rama.
