The U.S. Embassy in Tirana has shared images on social media of the USS Mount Whitney making a stop in Albania. This marks the first time an American warship has docked at Porto Romano in Durrës.

“Welcome to Albania, USS Mount Whitney! This is the first stop of a U.S. warship at Porto Romano. We welcome this new phase in Albania’s military modernization and this next step in the strong partnership between our two countries,” the announcement stated.
