The Minister of Foreign Affairs Igi Hasani reacted through a post on the X platform after the meeting with the foreign ministers of the Council of Europe.

He described the non-examination of Kosovo’s request for membership today as a missed opportunity while adding that the Kosovo government must act quickly to fulfill the commitments it has received.

“The failure to decide on Kosovo’s membership at today’s @CoE Ministerial is a missed historic opportunity for Kosovo to have a deserved seat at the table and a stronger voice in shaping a united and democratic Europe.

It is necessary for the Government of Kosovo to act quickly to fulfill the commitments it has made and engage constructively with its committed international partners and supporters. This should be followed by collective efforts to hold another Committee of Ministers in the near future. We must all act quickly to fulfill what we owe to the people of Kosovo!” Hasani wrote in his post.
