Foreign Minister Igli Hasani met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, where, as he announced in a statement on social media, he once again confirmed Albania’s position alongside Ukraine on the path to peace and security.
The minister said that a memorandum of understanding was signed, focused on cooperation in European integration, while earlier the two countries had signed agreements to strengthen their friendship.
“These steps represent significant progress in strengthening the relations between our countries and reaffirm our commitment to a strong and sustainable partnership,” Hasani wrote on the platform “X.”
The Foreign Minister also held meetings with the head of parliament, the prime minister, the deputy prime minister, and his counterpart. Hasani is participating in the foreign ministers’ meeting in Kyiv, which comes at a critical moment for Ukraine amid Russia’s military aggression against it, with attacks that, at the end of last year, also targeted the Albanian embassy building there.
