Albania is becoming more and more a favorite destination for tourists, not only during the summer, but also in the autumn season. The latest data from INSTAT confirms a significant increase in the number of foreign visitors in October, registering an increase of 80% compared to the same period last year.
According to the statistics of accommodation structures, the total number of visitors has increased by 43%. Tourists from Kosovo lead, who make up 9.5% of the total, followed by visitors from Italy, Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
The choice of destinations this fall is also interesting. Foreign tourists have avoided the beaches, preferring attractions in the center and non-coastal areas. Visits to these areas have increased by 45% in the central region and by 54% in other destinations away from the coast.
There was also an increase in the nights spent by tourists. In the central region, hospitality structures such as hotels, guesthouses and agritourisms have registered a 93% increase in overnight stays compared to the same period a year ago.
The figures clearly show that Albania is gaining more and more ground in the European tourist market. With its natural attractions and welcoming accommodation facilities, Albania is attracting travelers who choose to spend their autumn holidays in a destination that offers much more than beaches. A good news that confirms Albania’s success on the international tourist map.
