Special Prosecutor’s Office has issued 10 arrest warrants on former Durrës municipality officials, including former mayor Vangjush Dako.
By decision of Special Court for Corruption and Organized Crime, 7 measures of arrest with prison and 3 house arrest have been set.
Euronews Albania journalist Kloida Gjuzi reported that among those arrested is the former director of urban planning near the Durrës municipality, Adhurim Qehajaj, the former head of Kadastra, a lawyer of the municipality and a secretary of the UN, all former officials who touched the file of Fiqiri Farruk’s palace in 2011. Apart from Dako, the others involved have been missing for 3 days.
Arrested by order of Special Anti-Corruption Structure are:
Vangjush Dako, former head of Durres Municipality
Adhurim Qehajaj, former director of Urban Planning in Durres Municipality
Adlei Likmeta, former director of Urban Planning in Durres Municipality
Rozi Kovaci
Lira Kërtusha, former Urban Planning lawyer
Nandi Tocilla.
Charges against Dako and the former municipal officials are falsification of documents and abuse of duty.
“It is about a construction permit granted in 2011, where former officials are suspected of abusing their duties by favoring different persons. This file was investigated by SACS prosecutor Sotir Kllapi”, reported journalist Eni Ferhati.
