The session at the Constitutional Court for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha will take place on November 19 of this year.

This session will take place on the basis of a wide range of documents presented, where the former prime minister requests the annulment of the decisions of the First Instance of the Supreme Court, the Appeal of the Supreme Court and the Criminal Panel of the Supreme Court.

We remind that on September 18, 2024, the Constitutional Court reviewed the appeal on the first measure “Compulsion to appear” imposed on former Prime Minister Sali Berisha in October 2023.

The Assembly of the Republic of Albania will be a party to the process that will take place in the ‘Constitutional’.

Berisha claims that Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK) has violated the law because it did not implement the “Compulsion to appear” measure, as it had to be addressed to the Assembly for approval, as it is part of the restrictive measures of freedom.

Earlier, the Constitutional Court overturned the lawsuit filed by 30 opposition MPs on this matter.
